Everything is in place for a traditional fair this Saturday on the village recreation ground. Throughout the event, which runs from 1 - 5pm, food and drink will be available with many highlights including a solo aerobatic display, Puma helicopter, flyover by Dakota, classic vehicles, samba and marching band, country dancing, welly whanging, bouncy slide, net cricket, speed football, plate smashing, face painting, tattoos and a wandering clown. Entry is £3 per family, contact 713525.

The Holwell, Ickleford and Pirton Barn Owl Project: A guided walk on Wednesday, July 12 around Pirton Barn Owl territory at 7pm from Great Green with a walk of 2 miles, returning at 9.30pm under 16 year olds need to be accompanied by an adult. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a short lead and please remember to bring poo-bags. If lucky an owl might be sighted, but there is compensation from the splendid range of flora and fauna.
