Police and paramedics are on the scene at Hatfield Station after a person has been hit by a train.

Transport Police were called at 10.30am to reports that a person had been struck by a train between Stevenage and Potters Bar.

A commuter told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Hatfield Station has been evacuated.”

Currently all lines are blocked between the stations and Great Northern have said that services may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or diverted to Hertford North.

The train operator predicts that delays will continue until 2.30pm.

UNO buses are also accepting train tickets on routes 602 and 653 between Hatfield and St Albans.
