People lined the streets to pay their respects to a popular teacher whose funeral was today (Wednesday).
David Carter, 50, was a history teacher at The Barclay School in Stevenage and had been there for 13 years.
The married father-of-three is understood to have had a problem with his renal health and died on September 16.
Barclay pupils from Years 10, 11 and sixth form, along with staff, lined Walkern Road as the funeral procession went by. They were joined by parents and members of the public.
Mourners were asked by Mr Carter’s family to wear pink - his favourite colour. His funeral was held at Holy Trinity on the High Street.
Headteacher Debbie Upton said he was “an extremely popular teacher and colleague”.
