This year is Yvette Swinburn’s fourth carnival on the committee which organises the annual parade.

Mrs Swinburn said: “The parade went all along the town centre, it was great to see.

“There were about 18 different floats and vehicles in the parade, some were lorries, we had classic cars and there were lots of walkers.

“There were people of all ages taking part, the children did really well and there were plenty of adults having fun too.

“I walked down the parade and I couldn’t believe it – it was great to see the community coming together to enjoying the day.”

The money is being counted, and what organisers raise will go towards a defibrillator and to different charities at the end of the year.

Organising the carnival starts in January – if you’re interested in helping out with next year see biggleswade-carnival.org.

The Sandy Carnival also took place the weekend before, heading from All Saints Way to Sandye Place Academy where there were about 50 stalls and an abundance of entertainment.
