FIREFIGHTERS were called to the B&Q car park on London Road in Stevenage yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) to reports of a pedestrian trapped between two cars.
Crews used air mats to release the person.
Gary Sanderson, spokesman for the ambulance service, said: " Luckily one of our paramedic officers, who was on a day off, was shopping there at the time of the collision. He rushed over to help out and called for further ambulance and fire units to the scene. The woman, who we believe is in her 60s, sustained lower leg injuries. Following stabilisation by paramedics, she was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage."
He added: "Our paramedic was in the right place at the right time. He was able to comfort and reassure the lady until his colleagues arrived at the scene. He did a good job."
