Dean Parrett has had successful surgery on his knee in the United States.

The 22-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate knee ligament during the 3-2 loss to MK Dons on March 22 and will miss the rest of the season.

Parrett had opened the scoring for Stevenage midway through the first half before suffering the injury an hour into the game and having to be stretchered off. He could be out for up to six months.

Speaking at a press conference today (Thursday), manager Graham Westley called it a ‘nasty injury’ but added that all tests after the operation were looking as good as expected and Parrett will be on the road to recovery very soon.
