VISITORS to a town will be able to shop and help raise money for charity, thanks to the efforts of a rotary club.
Parking at Hitchin Priory will cost just 3 for as long as you want on the two Saturdays before Christmas, December 15 and 22 – cheaper than council owned car parks.
It’s the idea of Hitchin Tilehouse Rotary, which will donate all money received to its supported charities.
Louise Yexley, from the rotary club, said: “Whether you’re Christmas shopping or meeting family or friends, Hitchin offers a wide range of independent retailers with many unique gifts to make everyone’s Christmas. Why rush your Christmas shopping just because you only have change for an hour or so in the council car parks?
“Do a good deed this Christmas, park your car with Hitchin Tilehouse Rotary and help those in need while you are Christmas shopping.”
She added: “We want to say a big thank you to Hitchin Priory, LV= and AdminRe for allowing us to use their car parks over the two days.”
