Following the May meeting the Parish Council is back to full strength in numbers following the selection of Glenys Palmer and James Carlyle to fill the two vacancies. Amongst the other items discussed was the garage area behind Turnpike Lane that continues to attract fly tipping and vandalism. Members of the parish council recently met with North Hertfordshire Homes, the owners of the land and having now identified the owners of the present garages, the authority will be writing to them outlining proposals for the future. Possible landscaping of the area with allotments is one consideration, but it has been suggested to erect a new block of garages that can be controlled and possibly offer parking facilities to the residents in the surrounding area to ease the current parking congestion. The village has again entered for the Village of the Year competition, and judges will be visiting on June 13, so let us hope the day will be lucky for the village this year.
