Parade held for new Royal British legion flag

A PARADE was held to acknowledge a new Royal British Legion flag. The service of dedication, attended by North East Herts MP Oliver Heald, was held by the Baldock branch of the legion and included a marching band and a formal salute at the war memorial. T

A PARADE was held to acknowledge a new Royal British Legion flag.

The service of dedication, attended by North East Herts MP Oliver Heald, was held by the Baldock branch of the legion and included a marching band and a formal salute at the war memorial.

There were over 20 other standards in the parade, led by the Sawbridgeworth ATC Marching band.

The standards were followed by legion members and service veterans, led by the chairman of the Baldock branch, Alan Drury.

The parade was followed by a reception in St Mary's church hall, where more than 160 people attended.

Cllr Michael Muir, president of the branch, said: "The British Legion branch in Baldock can now go from strength to strength.
