Owl call for Brownie celebration

A Brown Owl is calling on Brownies old and new to celebrate a pack’s Diamond Jubilee.

The 4th Stevenage Brownies are celebrating their 60th anniversary in November and former members are invited to mark the historic milestone at a reunion. All ex-members are welcome including, girls, guiders, unit helpers, leaders and volunteers.

Pack leader of 18 years, Sue Foster, said: “Although generations of girls and uniforms have changed over the years the Brownie spirit has stayed the same. The pack opened on November 29, 1951, and is still as popular as the day it started.”

The celebrations, which include a special play performed by current girls, will be held at the scout hut at Barclay School at the end of November.
