A mixture of sadness and joy were experienced at last Wednesday's meeting. Sadness, at the news that member for many years "Dot" Rainbow had passed away last Saturday, having supported the club until very recently. Dot will be missed by her many friends and acquaintances in the area. On a much brighter note, Happy Birthday was sung to Albert Townsend who celebrated his 86th birthday. Albert's wife Ivy joined him in the celebrations as they also celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary on the same day. Other birthdays celebrated recently were Ethel Paine who celebrated her 80th birthday, having served many years checking in members, also Ella Herbert, the clubs oldest member, who celebrated her 90th birthday, having been a staunch supporter of the club for many years.
