Stevenage began life with Teddy Sheringham in charge with a 1-0 win at non league Wealdstone this afternoon (Saturday) in their first pre-season friendly ahead of the 2015/16 Sky Bet League Two campaign.
The match saw a return to the Conference South club for Tom Pett and Jerome Okimo who left The Arena for the Lamex Stadium last summer.
Sheringham, who took over the Boro reigns from Graham Westley in the summer, started his career as a manager in victorious fashion thanks to a first half penalty that was won and converted by new signing Brett Williams.
Stevenage continue their pre-season schedule on Tuesday night as they travel to St Neots Town before hosting Championship side Nottingham Forest, one of Sheringham’s former clubs, on Friday.
