FAMILY members of all ages were encouraged to try out new activities as part of National Family Learning Week.

Highbury Infant School and Nursery in Standhill Road, Hitchin, held a family learning event aimed at getting people to have fun together.

There were a variety of activities which were all free of charge including face painting, music sessions and keep fit exercises.

The event was supported by the fire service, crime prevention and scenes of crime teams.

Headteacher Helen Avey said "We were delighted by the amount of people who came to the event, many of whom did not have a connection with the school.

The day really brought the community together.
