Royston Volunteer Centre manager Denise Graham’s regular look at the voluntary sector in North East Herts

Why not take some time away from the Christmas shopping and join Santa for a fun, active family event!

The annual Family Santa Fun Run is being held on Sunday, December 13, at Royston Leisure Centre, hosted by the North Herts District Council’s active communities team.

You are all invited to bring your family and friends to jog, walk or toddle around a 3km guided route with no time limit, and buggies are welcome.

Afterwards there will be a gift for all children aged 11 and under and a chance for them to enjoy the craft zone filled with a range of festive activities.

Registration is at 10.30am for the fun run which will start at 11am, so hurry up and book your place – the aim is to get as many local people as possible involved!

The cost is £5 per child to include gift and craft zone, and £1 for adults and children aged 12 and above – but sorry, they don’t get a gift or entry into the craft zone! You need to book in advance, and don’t hang about – the deadline is 5pm tomorrow, Friday, December 5.

You can also get into the Christmas spirit by helping to marshal the course – more volunteers are still needed to help for a few hours on the day and we guarantee you will have a really enjoyable time.
