Sue Merchant second in command at the Sue Ryder Care Home at Stagenhoe Park attended a farewell tea party at the home to mark her retirement after a remarkable 27 years and twenty-seven days. Former colleagues, patients' families and friends from the management and outside who had experienced her care over the period gathered to thank her for her dedication above and beyond the call of duty.
For the past week: Those of us who live under the present flight path of Luton Airport have enjoyed peaceful nights as flights have been stopped from about midnight to 6am in order to re-tarmac the runway .What a difference! We must lobby our representatives to make this the norm as it is at Heathrow.
