OLYMPIC heptathlete and gold medallist Denise Lewis paid a visit to Stevenage on Thursday to promote London 2012 and raise money for Comet charity of the year Tracks.
Delighted fans watched on as Denise, complete with Olympic torch in hand, kicked off a 15 minute stint on a sponsored 12 hour cyclathon, before proceeding with a number of challenges including taking a customer survey and creating an authentic Greek lunch at the Stevenage Holiday Inn.
When asked how it compared to competing in a heptathlon, Denise said that she found making a bed extremely difficult. She also said how excited she was about the London 2012 Olympics.
Gerard Ryan, general manager at the hotel who oversaw the Greek themed event, said: “As the Olympics draws ever closer, it’s fantastic to be involved in such a significant way.
“It’s great to combine such a motivational event for all involved with raising funds for such a worthy local cause as Tracks.”
