A METAL object was thrown over a bridge hitting a passing lorry.

Herts Police have issued a safety warning after a metal grill pan was thrown from the Fishers Green bridge hitting an Asda goods lorry travelling on the A1(M) last Thursday evening.

The driver was uninjured but the object damaged the lorry.

A police spokesman said: "This incident could have been much more serious and resulted in a serious collision and injury.

"It is extremely dangerous to drop any item onto a moving vehicle and we will deal robustly with anyone committing this type of offence.
