Not a Silent Night as churches attempt world record carol service

A WORLD record attempt to get the most carol singers singing at the same time will be joined by a village congregation next Sunday.

St Mary’s Church in Knebworth will join over 22,000 people across the globe on December 18 for the Premier Christian Radio attempt to beat the current record for multiple venue carolling with renditions of Silent Night, O Little Town of Bethlehem and Away in a Manger.

Rev’d Jim Pye said the 15 minute attempt coincided with the church carol service and was an ideal opportunity to attract more people.

He added: “It makes it even more of an occasion, and gives people something to talk about over Christmas. After all, how many people can say they are a world record breaker?”

Join the service and record attempt from 6pm.
