Letchworth’s only town centre running event is back – but you’ll have to move fast to secure a place.

Run Round the Garden is being held on Sunday, June 17, over three distances – 5k, one mile, or a one-mile fun run which is free and open to all ages.

Roads including Leys Avenue, Eastcheap and the Broadway will be closed to traffic, providing a unique opportunity for runners of all abilities to race in the heart of the garden city.

The event was first held in 2016 and is again being organised by North Herts Road Runners. The 5k gets under way at 10am, followed by the one-mile event at 11am and the fun run at 11.30am.

Race director Richard Harbon said: “Run Round the Garden was a big hit when we put it on two years ago and people kept asking when we would be doing it again – so we are! You don’t need to be fast – these events offer something for everyone.

“It will be a fabulous morning of running in the iconic heart of our garden city.”

The fun run is free to enter, the 5k costs £8 and the mile event is £4. If you bold enough to enter both the 5k and mile events you get a £2 discount, with both races on offer for £10.
