Ten garages in the North Herts area worked together to raise the donations for North Herts Sanctuary in Nightingale Road.

Staff members were asked to hunt through their cupboards and or donate tins of food and other nonperishable items.

Some of the donations included tins of soup, biscuits and washing powder.

Operations manager of STS Tyres Pros Francis Johnson said: “We’ve have been through our cupboards to try and help people who need it.

“We are tired and exhausted of seeing people going hungry.”
