The play area at the Jackmans estate in Letchworth has been revamped and was officially reopened on Thursday.
The playground – which previously consisted of only swings, a roundabout and a climbing frame – is now filled with a nest swing, gym equipment, revamped tyre swings and plenty more.
The new play area has been delivered as part of a joint project between North Hertfordshire District Council and community charity Groundwork Hertfordshire.
The district council’s executive member for leisure, Councillor David Barnard, said: “We are delighted to unveil this exciting new play area for local residents.
“We hope the range of play and outdoor gym equipment will provide something for all the family to enjoy.
“We would like to say a big thank you to Groundwork for helping to make this project a reality.”
To decide what equipment would be installed, the district council commissioned Groundwork to carry out a consultation with residents.
Results from the consultation were used as part of the design process. The district council provided £75,000 in funding for the upgrade.
