There’s no question about the next event being organised by the North Herts group of global prisoner pressure group Amnesty International – it’s the annual quiz night, which will once again be hosted at Hitchin’s Church House.
The event will start at 7.45pm on Friday, October 9, in the Churchyard venue, and tickets are £10 to include a fish and chip supper and £6 if you’d prefer to pass on the food and just concentrate on the questions.
Teams of six to eight people are welcome, but advance booking is essential – the man to speak to is quizmaster Max Summerhayes on 01462 431292 or by emailing him via bevandmax@btinternet.com.
Recent events organisted by the North Herts group include a ‘Stop Torture’ stall signing up supporters in Hitchin’s Market Place last month, which collected signatures of supporters and raised more than £160, a summer concert at the Hinxworth home of Frances and Simon Marlow with classical music and jazz from Tom Marlow’s trio which added another £800 to the coffers, as well as a social Sunday walk around Ashwell followed by a pub lunch.
