West Sussex-based club has taken delivery of new covers in order to protect the pitch

Crawley Town have said there is no pitch inspection planned for tomorrow’s match at home to Stevenage.

Matt Moss, the club’s head groundsman, has told the club’s YouTube channel that he was “95 per cent” certain the game would go ahead.

“We should be 95 per cent on tomorrow. Not unless we get hurricanes tonight and everything goes wrong, but it shouldn’t do tonight,” said Moss.

On Thursday the club took delivery of some new pitch covers that now protect the entire Broadfield playing surface and allows the groundstaff to sweep away any surface water.
