Longhorn cows will be returning to Ivel Springs Nature Reserve in Baldock next week.
The cattle are being brought in for the second year running to graze on the grassland meadow at the reserve, and will stay there until September.
North Herts District Council – in partnership with Countryside Management Service – has arranged for the cattle to graze not only in Ivel Springs, but also at Weston Hills in Baldock and Oughtonhead Common in Hitchin.
Councillor David Barnard, NHDC’s executive member for green issues, said: “We are delighted to welcome to Longhorns back to Ivel Springs.
“We encourage people to visit the site and if they bring their dogs, please make sure they are kept under control and on leads at all times when they are near the cows.”
The Countryside Management Service is hosting a ‘meet the cows’ event at Ivel Springs on July 12 at 7.30pm until 8.30pm.
