New Year’s message: Cllr Lynda Needham

A NEW Year’s message from Lynda Needham, leader of North Herts District Council.

“AS THE year comes to an end, I hope you have all had a good 2012 and enjoyed your Christmas, however it was spent.

It’s been quite a year in North Herts, what with the Queen’s visit to Hitchin followed by the Olympic Torch Relay through Letchworth. I would like to thank everyone who came out to support these events - the atmosphere at both was fantastic and it was down to you that these were such memorable occasions.

2012 also saw the landmark signing of a contract to develop a brand new North Herts Museum and community facility on the site of the current Hitchin Town Hall. As we look ahead to the New Year, we will see preparations gather pace for this and a number of other new and exciting projects across the district.

On behalf of everyone at North Herts District Council, I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year.”
