A SEXUAL health clinic has opened on Stevenage Leisure Park, and it is hoped its central location will encourage more people to take care of their sexual health.

A NEW sexual health clinic has opened in Stevenage, offering free confidential help and advice.

The Kingsway Sexual Health Clinic at the Kingsway Health Centre on Stevenage Leisure Park is open to anyone from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm, with late openings until 6.30pm on Thursdays.

It replaces the Woodlands Sexual Health Clinic which was previously located at Lister Hospital, and offers testing and treatment for all sexually transmitted infections, sexual health advice and information, and condoms.

Sexual health nurse Jan Wischhusen said: “Our clinic has moved closer to Stevenage town centre and our services remain the same.

“You can see us if you’re worried about any symptoms you’ve got, or if you need advice or just a sexual health check-up.

“We hope that by having our clinic in such a busy location we will encourage more people to think about taking care of their sexual health.”

She added: “There’s no need to be embarrassed or scared about coming to see us. We’re very friendly and the tests we offer are simple and painless.

“If we find something wrong we can start your treatment quickly, and if you’re fit and healthy we can put your mind at rest and give you advice on safe sex.”

Staff at the clinic hope to be able to offer a variety of contraception services in the near future.
