AN actor raised in Comet country has landed a lead role in a top TV soap.
Craig Vye, who grew up in Stotfold, stars in Channel 4’s teen drama Hollyoaks as Detective Ethan Scott, who Mr Vye describes as “a ladies man but not nasty with it.”
On a video posted on the Hollyoaks website the actor talks about his first days of shooting.
“My first day was really mad, I was cast on Monday and was shooting scenes on Tuesday morning, so I had about five minutes to meet everyone and then we were shooting scenes...there’s no messing around,” said Mr Vye.
His character will get trapped in a a steamy love triangle with his girlfiend Liberty, played by Abi Phillips, and one of the show’s stalwarts Theresa McQueen, played by Jorgie Porter.
He has also appeared in Misfits, another popular Channel 4 affiliated show, and played the lead in late nineties children’s TV show Aquila.
Hollyoaks is shown Monday-Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
