New Fathers 4 Justice activist who climbed onto roof of Stevenage Police Station charged with aggravated trespass

A fathers’ rights protester who yesterday climbed onto the roof of Stevenage Police Station dressed as the Muppet Elmo has been charged with aggravated trespass and is due to appear in court today.

Bobby Smith scaled the building at about 12.30pm and was arrested when he came down at 5.35pm.

He will appear at Hatfield Remand Court today.

The 33-year-old from Anderson Road, Stevenage, is affiliated to New Fathers 4 Justice, which campaigns for equal rights for fathers in divorce and separation proceedings and reform of the family courts.
