The new chairman of North Herts District Council was elected last night (Thursday).
David Miller, last years' vice-chairman, was elected to the office taking over from Hitchin Priory councillor Alison Ashley.
The Conservative councillor for Hitchwood, Offa and Hoo said during his year in office he will raise money for Sports North Herts which gives grants to talented athletes and coaches.
He and his wife Pauline live in St Ippolyts and three of their four children still live in the area.
David Levett, the Letchworth committee chairman and Conservative councillor for Letchworth South East, was elected vice-chairman.
