North Herts District Council will elect a new chairman and vice-chairman at its annual meeting tonight.
Current chairman Alison Ashley and vice-chairman David Miller, both Conservatives, will step down.
The new incumbents will take up their positions for a year after a special ceremony when they are given their chains of office.
The leader of the council and deputy leader, as well as cabinet and committee members will also be elected, although no changes are expected.
