A NEW commanding officer will be leading a squadron of air cadets.
Taking charge of 248 (Letchworth) Squadron is Flt Lt Stuart Wilton, who has been a member of staff at the unit for eight years.
Flt Lt Iain Hutchinson was the commanding officer of the squadron for more than three years but is moving on to become a development training officer for the Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire wing.
Flt Lt Hutchinson said: "It has been a privilege to command the unit and has been something that has been a huge part of my life.
"I am immensely proud of the achievements of all cadets and staff alike.
"It is now time for the next chapter to begin for the squadron."
He added: "I know the cadets and staff will support Flt Lt Wilton with the same dedication they have shown me and I know the squadron will continue to go from strength to strength under his leadership."
Flt Lt Wilton said: "I take command of a unit that is on a particular high with all of its achievements in 2006 and I will endeavour to command the squadron to the best of my ability.
