A new state-of-the-art care home has officially opened near Lister Hospital.
Stevenage mayor Carol Latif cut the ribbon at Pinelodge Care Home on Graveley Road at a ceremony attended by over 200 people including residents, their families and staff, while members of the Stevenage Male Choir entertained.
Manager Marion Mason said moving to a care home should not be viewed as a last resort.
βOn the contrary, for many people it is the beginning of a new life, with the opportunity for securing friendship and total fulfilment,β she said.
The home provides nursing care for long-term elderly care both privately and for the NHS and local authorities, as well as respite care.
