A North Herts hair salon marked National Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the weekend by raising £190 to help end the disease.

The team at Hair Works, in Weston’s Fore Street, laid on pink Prosecco, pink-and-white bagels and more on Saturday in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign – which this year marks its 25th anniversary.

Donations to the charity included a percentage of the day’s takings, and contributions in return for a free blow dry.

Lisa Hawkins from Hair Works told the Comet: “The day was supported by our regular clients and the people of Weston.

“We raised £190 for the Breast Cancer Campaign and our raffle, which had some great gifts from businesses, raised £60 for the Diamond Club – a charity that looks after the elderly in Weston.”
