A PUBLIC meeting about the future of a museum has been postponed.

The meeting, organised after concerns were raised about Hitchin Museum's prospects, was to be held on September 25 at the town's Queen Mother Theatre. Its aim was to identify the amount of public support for retaining the museum on its present site in Paynes Park and to complete various improvements.

It has been delayed by the organisers to give North Hertfordshire District Council an opportunity to rethink their plans about the future of the museum.

The council has yet to make a decision about the museum.
