A multi-vehicle crash has partially blocked the A505 at Offley Hill near Hitchin this morning.
Police closed the road going towards Hitchin but managed to keep one lane open heading for Luton.
Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the incident that happened at 8.38.
Police say it is too early to say how many people had been injured but confirmed an accident had happened on both sides of the road involving a number of vehicles and restrictions are expected to be in place for some time on the A505.
