A MULTI-MILLION pound regeneration project which will build better facilities and more housing on an estate was given the green light last night (Tuesday).
John Barker Place in Hitchin will have £7m plugged into it to build new shops, a community centre, housing, and a play area, after North Herts District Council’s Cabinet approved the move last night.
It agreed to enter into a development agreement with North Hertfordshire Homes, with works scheduled to begin next summer.
Project funding will be split between the two.
