AN MP is doing his bit for the environment by offsetting the carbon emissions created by his travel.
MP for North East Hertfordshire Oliver Heald is taking steps to reduce his carbon footprint by using a scheme devised by environmental company Climate Care.
By paying a set fee, Climate Care will offset - or counteract - your CO2 by funding projects such as forest restoration, renewable energy and energy efficiency around the world.
Mr Heald said: "Every time I make a journey, my emissions will be offset through a donation to an energy-reducing project.
"We all have a duty to take responsibility for the carbon emissions we produce through our lifetime and the schemes I shall be supporting overseas are exciting and innovative."
