PUSHING for a decision on replacing the long unused goods lifts at Letchworth GC rail station with modern passenger lifts is town MP Oliver Heald.
He is asking transport secretary Lord Adonis for action after hearing that First Capital Connect is further investigating the move.
Mr Heald said: "This story of the lifts at Letchworth Garden City is longer than Lord of The Rings and I know that local disabled groups are as frustrated as I am at the delays.
"However, the Government has promised that we will get modern lifts through the Access for All programme and I am continuing to press for action.
"This is an important issue for all those who have access problems, whether they have disabilities or need to use the station with a buggy or pram.
