A suspected drug dealer led police on a car chase through Stevenage, Hitchin and Luton last night before crashing into a bollard on the A505.
The driver fled on foot after crashing the car at Luton’s Vauxhall Way roundabout – adjoining Stopsley Way and Hitchin Road – but was tracked down by a police dog in the nearby residential street Englefield.
The chase began after the vehicle failed to stop for police on the A602 between Stevenage and Hitchin shortly before 11pm last night.
A police spokeswoman confirmed this morning that 16-year-old boy from Luton was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply.
