Motorist hospitalised after being trapped following two-vehicle crash on A602 between Hitchin and Stevenage

A driver has been hospitalised after being trapped following a two-vehicle crash on the A602 between Hitchin and Stevenage today.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the crash by the A1(M) Junction 8 roundabout on the carriageway heading away from Hitchin shortly after 12 noon, with fire personnel freeing the trapped person.

The cars involved were a grey BMW and a grey Toyota Land Cruiser. An ambulance spokesman told the Comet that one person with minor injuries had been taken to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital for further care.

The road was briefly blocked, and recovery was arranged for the BMW.
