Boro hope to continue good away form
Morecambe v Stevenage (preview)
npower League 2
Saturday, October 23
BORO hope to continue their current good form when they travel to Morecambe this weekend.
Graham Westley’s men have lost just once in their past six matches, and have secured seven points from their last three away games.
Boro will be in good spirits following their 2-1 win at home to Burton Albion last Saturday where Scott Laird (penalty) and top scorer Chris Holroyd got on the scoresheet.
Morecambe are lying fifth from bottom of League 2 after their defeat to Aldershot last time out and have the third worst defence in the league (having conceded 21 times in 12 games).
Boss Sammy McIlroy will hope to see an improvement in his side’s defending of set pieces after seeing his side concede from a corner against Aldershot.
The Morecambe boss said afterwards that he was “sick of talking about set pieces”.
Team news
Boro still have Chris Beardsley, Darren Murphy, Joel Byrom and Lee Boylan out through injury, while Luke Foster is suspended after seeing red against Burton Albion on Saturday. New signing Ben May is also injured.
Morecambe this week agreed to release Darren Moss from his contract.
