THERE is a warning of possible further congestion this afternoon (Monday) and into the evening around the Coreys Mill area of Stevenage leading to the A1(M) at junction 8 as well as the A602 bypass to and from Hitchin.
Herts County Council says that after a break in the survey to allow traffic to ease after lunchtime, a roadside survey has started again and will end at 7pm.
This could mean long traffic queues in the area meaning long delays for homeward bound commuters.
"The survey was due to last for 12 hours from 7am until 7pm tonight but there was a break to allow traffic congestion to disperse," said a Hertfordshire Highways spokesman.
"We have now started the survey again and it will end tonight at 7pm. We apologise for the inconvenience.
