Police have cordoned off Monk’s Wood off Six Hills Way in Stevenage after reports of a woman in her 30s being sexually assaulted last night.

Officers were called to the copse at 8.56pm following the incident.

A specialist team including a police dog unit and helicopter attended the scene and the area was cordoned off. An ambulance also attended.

The cordon remains in place today.

A police spokesman said the victim is being supported by officers from Herts police’s sexual offences investigation team and investigations are on-going.
