Staff at a recruitment agency have been treading on hot coals for charity.

Employees at Smart10 took part in a 15ft firewalk organised by the East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals Charity at Lister Hospital in Stevenage, raising £565 for the Magic of Play Appeal.

The fundraising appeal has been set up in a bid to install and equip a new playroom for the children’s unit at the hospital in Coreys Mill Lane.

Claire Brindle from Smart10, based in Welwyn GC, said: “When we were asked to take part in the charity firewalk, we agreed straight away. It was a brilliant night and the team had great fun rising to the challenge. We were delighted with the response that we had and we are so pleased to be able to support the Magic of Play Appeal this year.”

Zoe Doherty, fundraiser for the East and North Herts Hospitals Charity, said: “Claire and her team have regularly supported the charity and the children’s ward through toy drives and fundraising. We were so pleased when they agreed to take part in our firewalk. We’d like to say a big thank you to the Smart10 team and all of those who supported them. Together they raised an impressive amount of money for the appeal and we are very grateful for their continued involvement.”
