Scale modelling enthusiasts showed of their skills at the weekend with the annual Shuttleworth Veteran Aeroplane Society’s scale model exhibition at the Shuttleworth Collection near Biggleswade.
The popular show including clubs, societies and trade stands is now in its eighth year.
Visitors were also offered the chance to sit in a Spitfire
Model makers were able to enter into a series of categories including best model over 148th scale, best 148th scale and smaller and best model of an aircraft or vehicle in the Shuttleworth Collection.
The best model in the show is decided by the show’s organising committee and its maker awarded The John Memorial Trophy. It was presented in memory of John Morris who was a founding member of the organising committee. Ciara Harper from the Collection, said: “The event proved even more popular than last year, with visitors coming from as far afield as Northampton. It opens The Collection up over the winter months to different visitors who may not have been here before to see the vintage aircraft and vehicles.”
