HERTFORDSHIRE'S first flash mob went off with a pop last weekend.
On Saturday around 40 young people gathered by the clock tower in Stevenage town centre and let off party poppers as the clock finished striking 2pm.
Organisers advertising the event on the internet had hoped to attract up to 300 people from near and far to the mob, which was hailed as "fun, exhilarating and a cure to a boring day".
Despite pleas from the organisers for mobbers to tidy up after themselves, debris from the party poppers littered the ground once they had left.
