Thirteen parked vehicles have been damaged in a spate of criminal damage in Baldock – and police have now appealed for witnesses.

The incidents took place in Pembroke overnight on Saturday. In most cases deep and long scratches were made to the sides of the vehicles, damaging the paintwork.

PC Shaun Deal, who is investigating, said: “This mindless vandalism has caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage leaving the vehicle owners both inconvenienced and out of pocket.

“This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and I am appealing for anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously in the Pembroke Road area on Saturday evening or overnight into Sunday to get in touch.

“I’d also like to hear from anyone who believes they may know those responsible for these crimes.

“Patrols have been increased in the local area while we continue to investigate these crimes and work to identify the culprits.

“If you see anyone behaving in a suspicious way around parked vehicles always alert police.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Alternatively use Crimestoppers’ anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
