A three-year-old and his mum were invited to a VIP afternoon at Stevenage Football Club last week and even met Boro Bear.

Miller Hudson was caught up in a house fire that destroyed all his and his mum Sarah’s possessions last month.

They are currently living in temporary accommodation while their house in Webb Rise, Stevenage, is repaired.

The club saw the Comet’s report and wanted to give something back and give the pair a treat.

A club spokesman said: “As a family club we were keen to help out in whatever way possible and welcomed Sarah, Miller and some family to The Lamex Stadium on Saturday as VIP guests to enjoy some free hospitality and watch our win over Newport.

“Miller was thrilled to meet our mascot Boro Bear and also received a whole host of goodies including t-shirts, teddies and stationery.”
