Aircraft enthusiasts enjoyed some rare sights soaring through the skies at The Shuttleworth Collection at the weekend.

The annual military pageant saw military vehicles and aircraft gather at the Old Warden aerodrome near Biggleswade.

There were family activities, lots of military vehicles and historical re-enactors, and even a Great War flight simulator.

A spokeswoman for The Collection said: “Attendance and weather were both very favourable for the Shuttleworth Military Pageant, we were very lucky to have an interesting range of visiting military vehicles and historical re-enactors, and Chelsea pensioners taking part in the vehicle parade.

“We were able to offer a real family day out with the house being open for visitors until the flying display began, STEM activities from Coventry University, crafts from The Swiss Garden team, and a visiting replica Great War flight simulator – aka Rocking Nacelle – proved very popular with visitors of all ages.”
