A TREE has been planted in memory of a teenager who was stabbed to death last month.

David Paine, 17, of Leaves Spring, Steve-nage, died after an incident at a party on February 3.

Family and friends of David's took turns to plant the tree in the Roebuck woodland area.

John Kinnear, manager of Marshalls Cycles in Stevenage where David used to work, said: "I think it is important for David's friends and family to have somewhere to go to remember him. The shop became a focal point with all the flowers outside after his death but it is nice to have somewhere permanent."

Since David's death John said he and his staff have coped by remembering the good times.

He said: "It has been very difficult. There is a big gap and it seems very strange without him.
